Martavious Thomas is the founder of Thomas Legal Advisors, a national law firm dedicated to representing professional and aspiring athletes, as well as individuals and families impacted by asbestos-related injuries. With a deep commitment to justice and a personal connection to the blue-collar community, Mr. Thomas has spent his career fighting for the rights of those who need it most.

A proud graduate of Edwardsville High School, where he excelled in football, Mr. Thomas continued his academic and athletic pursuits at the University of Evansville in Indiana. He graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing, driven by a desire to combine his interests in business and law. His passion for the legal field led him to Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he earned a Certificate in European Legal Studies and a Certificate in Sports Law.

Mr. Thomas began his legal career in Chicago, Illinois, representing condominium and homeowners' associations. In 2007, he returned to his roots in Madison County, Illinois, to serve as a prosecutor in the Madison County State's Attorney's Office. In 2009, he joined The Gori Law Firm, where he dedicated himself to helping victims of asbestos exposure. His commitment to this cause was recognized in July 2017, when he became a partner at the firm.

In June 2024, Mr. Thomas took a significant step in his career by founding Thomas Legal Advisors, a firm with a national reach and a focused mission to advocate for athletes and those affected by asbestos exposure. Over the past 15 years, Mr. Thomas has recovered more than $100 million for plaintiffs, establishing himself as a leading expert in both sports law and asbestos litigation.

Marcus Wilson is a former professional athlete, collegiate coach, executive leader, and ESPN broadcaster who has dedicated his career to identifying talent, developing athletes, and building the kinds of relationships that open doors. As Director of Player Support and Talent Identification, Marcus serves as a trusted advocate and resource for athletes seeking to understand, build, and monetize their personal brand in the Name, Image, and Likeness era.

Marcus played professional basketball for eleven seasons across nine countries — including Belgium, Spain, France, Ukraine, Germany, and Italy, as well as NBA Summer Leagues — winning championships in Belgium and Spain. A 1999 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year and University of Evansville Hall of Fame inductee, he ranks among the top statistical performers in NCAA history. That playing experience gives Marcus something no classroom can teach: a firsthand understanding of what athletes face at every stage of their career, and what it means to compete at the highest levels of the game.

His coaching career carried that knowledge into the next generation. As Head Coach at the Academy of Central Florida, Marcus went 30–8 and earned SIAA Coach of the Year recognition. At the University of Evansville, he helped build the program’s first Top-120 recruiting class in school history and contributed to a 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship and an NCAA Tournament victory. Along the way, he developed a sharp eye for talent and an even sharper instinct for which athletes are ready — on and off the court — to take the next step.

As CEO and former Executive Director of the Bayer YMCA, Marcus raised more than $4.5 million over five years, managed a staff of over 100, and directed a $2.5 million capital renovation — all while continuing to scout and transition elite international athletes to the United States. He produced a McDonald’s All-American, helped land a Northwestern University commit, and cultivated a Top-25 recruit in the 2030 class. His international relationships with coaches and scouts across multiple countries give him a global perspective on emerging talent and NIL market opportunities that few advisors can match.

Marcus also spent nearly a decade as an ESPN Color Commentator covering the Missouri Valley and Ohio Valley Conferences, serving as lead commentator at the OVC Tournament in 2023, 2024, and 2025. His experience in media — combined with an active cross-platform social presence and career as a public speaker — means he understands athlete branding from both sides of the microphone.
